OK. Be honest on this one. I've named every bass I've ever owned - electric, upright, acoustic - you name it. I even had a buddy in Chicago who named his amps, but that's another topic entirely.

My upright is currently named "Marie"... my electrics are "Boba Fett" and "Kara" (after my wife).

Any other freaks out there? Or, am I the only crazy one out there?
  2. Welcome to Talk Bass. There was a thread about this a while back... you might want to search for it.

My DP (if and when I get around to getting the dough for it) is gonna be the BioBass, named for the Bioharzard inlay I'm going to have put on the headstock.

I call my Peavey Cirrus "my Peavey"
I call my Warwick FNA "my Warwick"

I am not that creative, I guess.;)

Oh yeah, and when they don't do what I want them to or sound like they are supposed to, they get called a lot of other names. But I better not mention any of them......................
  11. Wwell, since I only have one right now, I call my P-bass "my bass". Once I get my StingRay, I'll call it "my StingRay" and my P-bass will be known as "my Fender". Heh heh...

I never though really about naming my instruments. Maybe I will when I am famous... "My red Stingray", "my black StingRay", my white StingRay", "my fretless StingRay", my "StingRay5", my .... :D

Cubeenz, is there a tinny, small, itty bitty chance that you just may like Stingray basses?

I've never considered naming my bass, but now that you've mentioned it, I must think of one... the rest of the band call my bass "the tank"... maybe that will do...

After reading this thread, I decided to name my basses by the first words that popped into my head.

My p-bass is forever marked as "Pokey"
My soundgear bears the label "Billabong"

while I was at it, I named my stratocaster "Fifi the lighthouse".

there were named, but at least it was done with dignity, self-respect, and a quiet aura of roly-poly.

    OK. Forgot to add this.

Why did you name your bass? What was the inspiration behind it?
