If Joe Dart is a "real man", he'd better enjoy PBR! I know that I am a "real man" and I know what "real beer" is!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone care to explain to a confused Irish guy what's the deal with Pabst?
Is it considered awful, or cool, or what?

It's most often consumed by American hipsters, despite it's taste.

Its better than some light beers, but it’s generally considered to be pretty bad with its only redeeming quality being that it’s cheap. As such, it has taken on a life of its own being the “hipsters beer of choice.”

PBR is blecch, but it's popular. Not quite as awful as budweiser though. Having a big craft brewery (Southern Tier Brewing Company) near my hometown, as well as a guitarist that works there, made me a little stuck up when it comes to taste in beer lol.

But lots of people like it. It's definitely a hipster's choice nowadays.

Southern Tier makes a lot of good beer. They were/are very consistent with their offerings.

Let's just say my mom was very smart when she handed me a PBR in 5th grade while camping. It was so bad I had no interest in beer for probably 20 yrs.

My dad let me sip a PBR when I was a tyke back in the 60's. I'm still trying to get the taste out of my mouth.

Then there was Schlitz. Remove the C, the L, the Z, and you have the recipe, pilgrim.

If I'm drinking a cheap pilsner, I'll opt for a PBR long before a Bud Light, Miller Lite or Coors Light.

  16. I’m from Texas. I automatically thought of Professional Bull Riding. My grandfather was a professional bull rider, way before there was such a thing as The PBR. He didn’t drink beer.

I happen to like PBR and I made my own beer for years. It's a good generic beer and if you want to chug something cold on a hot summer day, it's awesome!

Personally I would not touch any of the big Lite beers (Bud, Coors, Miller) and would only drink Budweiser under protest.

I haven't had a PBR in at least 20 years and hope to continue that trend. But, my favorite beer is Michelob Ultra, so my opinion may not carry much weight.
