I have a thing for DODs.

Can't wait for this one. Should get her next week.

I already have an FX25 and an FX62 chorus.

I have low expectations, given that effects have come so far, especially in the last, oh, 15 years. It was this or a POG. Who am I kidding, I'll prolly still get the POG, lol.

$60 pp, Reverb. I'll do an NPD when she arrives.

I hear good things about it and would be interested to read your findings!

I scored one locally for $40 few weeks ago. Haven't messed too much with it yet but cool pedal. Came with original box, manual, sticker etc. They even came with schematic

  5. Those old DOD boxes were a hit and a miss but certainly hold their own despite their oddities. That battery door, foot switch and power jack are all issues to be dealt with. Their utility boxes otoh were bullet proof DI boxes, resistance mixers, ab switchers...

WOW! So clean! Total score. I'm just happy mine has the battery cover, lol.

How does it track? Are you gonna use it with other FX? How's that working out? Do you have any other DODs?

Do you have any you use (or don't use) currently?

Edit: I just use the 1 Spot adapters for the power jack, they work pretty well.

It tracks pretty well but not great on sustained notes. The tone is a nice touch and the volume is much better than an OC2. I would use it but the MXR VOD is my go to octave at the moment.
I also have the FX25, FX62, FX82 and an FX75 on the way. The bass chorus sounds really good, it surprised me a little. All are no slouch by any stretch but volume on the FX25 is a little low.

See here for FX25 advice: What is an envelope filter or an auto-wah? I find limiting after this pedal works pretty well (FX25 => Keeley Bassist), might help with volume issue. I've read that the FX25B is bad with the volume drop and most prefer the 2-knob for this reason. This site also steered me away from the FX82 but the FX84 Milk Box looks interesting. Of course, I'd love to acquire them both at some point.

    Love the BBD FX62!

You opted for the FX75 over the FX72?

Also, interested in a M280 VBO vs M288 BOD comparrison.
MXR bass octave deluxe vs vintage octave?

I have the older FX25 and volume spike isnt the issue, its lower output than I'd like. I'll have to check that sensitivity pot issue mentioned in the link you posted because it's a great sounding filter.
I picked up the FX75 because it was a good deal. I'll wind up with the other one too sooner or later.

  11. Only a Boneshaker but none of the other vintage DOD efx iirc but there might be a stray or two hidden away in the trunks. I have several of the utility boxes mentioned in my sound company trunks packed away or in use. Those early DOD DI boxes are worth collecting as some have the desirable Jensen transformer or a very good substitution and all are quite serviceable units. I use several resistance mixers in my keyboard and effects studio setup.

I've had an octoplus for a good ten years.
Such a great sounding pedal. The only reason I don't use mine out when gigging is down to size issues.
    I also have an fx10, two fx25s, fx72, 62, 100, 92, 91 and 35. I'm kind of a dod fan lol

Cool! FX72 might be next for me. I'd guess you already know about America's Pedal

I've been using FX35 Octoplus for quite some time, but ultimately it was replaced by MIJ BOSS OC-2

FX35 is more versatile because of the "Tone" knob (I used mine with "Tone" fully CCW, so it was really bottom heavy), but OC-2 cuts through the band mix better!

Also using DOD FX84 Milkbox as an always-on pedal and vintage FX10 :)
