I'm looking for a luthier who is honest, faithful and
have good skills(a lot of experience).
I need to set up my new fretless neck(J-style) to
Jazz bass body. I knew some luthiers, but I don't think they are honest....somehow...
I'm living in Los Angeles now.
Does anybody know a good, honest luthier who is working near L.A for bass guitar?
If you know...please tell me who that is...

John Carruthers knows more about basses and guitars than anyone in L.A. Been a favorite of many here for years. He's done good work on my basses since the early 80's. He's in Venice California.
His number is 310 392-3919. He's not the cheapest guy in town but has been doing it longer here than almost anyone else. Most of the other bass and guitar repair guys here in town that do good work used to work for and learned from him. Your bass will sound it's best after he's done with it. I don't trust anyone else to work on my 1960 P-Bass.
