I'm trying to build a spine, heres a layout I found that almost matches mine I drew, but the thing is I dont know how to support the 2x4's that hold on the plywood you guys help me out? (psst..as always hehe)
aww, man...i used to build some bomb ramps back in the day. i'll get you a link to some plans, though
hey, there ya go, man. i would add another piece of coping and maybe not have as much transition in there, though. cool ramp
When I made jumps it was a piece of plywood and a couple of cinderblocks. I would cut a few cross-sectional flats, just like the side view of the spine, and use those as your vertical supports. One on each side, and maybe 2 inside ought to do it. If it's really wide, maybe 3 or 4, and some internal cross bracing. This WILL be holding your weight, after all. Rock on Eric
I used to skateboard, back in the day. =) I had a 4 foot mini ramp in my backyard. ahhhhh memories!!! My first time dropping in, my first frontside air, my first attempt at a kickflip indy...... suddenly plumeting my face into the transition and sliding down. Nice ramp plans though, make the transition a little less steeper. Good luck with it, and show pics.. Ill try to find pics of mine around here somewhere.
I've a feeling there's detailled plans available here - www.howthingswork.com or www.howstuffworks.com . If not, search on google, someone will have published some plans of some sort! My village is buying a skatepark. ALthough theres maybe 10 max who'll use it, the things costing £80,000.00 ! So next time you older TB'ers see an ignorant little skater boy damaging your property, think 'ah at least my taxes are going to good use'..
