Was watching this old NOFX video from 1994 and saw that big
metal silver head and i couldn't make out what it was.

Fat mike i think once said he was never a gear head and just uses what he can get but i cannot make out what it is. Possibly and old Mesa/Boogie rack head or something. I think normally Mike never keeps his heads on top of his cabs (At least till he got a rack)
  2. Looks like a Fender BXR 400 to me

Is it the same Insanity Amps dude who built that 1000w tube amp a year ago?

BXR! Guy I jam with has one. Not a bad super clean sounding head through a decent cab. Doesn't like pedals much though.

Whoops...sorry bro...I totally misunderstood the answer and didn't notice you were the first to answer. It read to me like it was an amp you built Fat Mike was using. Got a little quick with the scrolling, I guess.

He also used a Mesa Bass 400+ in 1994, I saw them at a festival here in Holland (Waldrock) and was blown away by the sound of the Mesa rig.
After that experience I knew what I had to do (see my profile) :)

He played a solid state Mesa when I saw them in 98. But yeah, that's a Fender something or other.
  11. Haha no worries. I wish I built an amp for Fat Mike but I would have been 14 at the time!
