I like to make up jams and have an ipod. I am having trouble finding a decent app that I can play along to. some cost isn't a big deal. just wondering what everyone likes the best.

    Agreed.
    The loops quality is remarkable.
The free version allows you to store and play a few drum loops. For a few $$ you get all loops you want.

I heard from the maker that he is working on some updates and extra drum loops. Curious about those....

The maker of Drumgenius is a double bassist, Mauro Battisti. You may find on the web a very nice series of articles he wrote on walking bass: "Walk with me".
