Does anyone other than Carvin make neck through blanks?

I don't think anyone else does, but their single truss rod is kind of a turn off. It makes me want to just try a bolt on, and hope I don't mess up the routing.

I bought one of their 5 string neck-through pieces and just added some swamp ash to the sides. It's my favorite bass to play. They make good, quality stuff............I'm glad I started out using these Carvin blanks (made a guitar from one too), it was a great way to get involved/interested in building.
Kinda pricey, if I remember right, though
  3. Stewart MacDonald offers them too...

are you sure about that? I've never seen them offer it. Hold On...(checks site)...Not there. Do you have a link to where you found them?

I ran into a builder at the Philadelphia gtr show that uses stewmac necks.

someone asked him if he would do a multi lam neck and the guy insisted on one piece necks...which started me thinking.

Finally i emailed the guy and asked him if he sourced his necks from Carvin..He said "no, stewmac...and you better not try it yourself because it is difficult to build a bass..."

I told him the neck is the hardest part...
