I was trying to determine what flats I had on my 50's Precision and I could have sworn the last set I purchased for them were Fender.
But I recall Fender's flats having a green silk wrap.

    Any ideas?

Dont think so? I believe they have the green silk on the ball end of the string. No silk on other end.
  4. the fender flats that i bought from guitar center about 3 months ago have no silk on them at all.... i think.. now that two people have mentioned it i'm going to have to go and recheck, i haven't checked under the bridge cover in a while.

The old Fender flats that came stock on their basses (860s?) until the '70s had green silks.

Now they are only silked at the ball-ends, as mentioned previously.

Are the T.I.'s really worth a try?
