Does having Fender in the title of a thread automatically make it get tons of replies?

  1. On one hand, I think so. On the other hand, I think no so. Thoughts?

I think having "Fender sucks" in the title might get it a lot of replies. :smug:

It's not the only reason, but we love a good trainwreck thread on TB and few subjects can trigger it like Fender.

Good question, though. Damn good question.

For the most part, yes, especially if it's a bold pro- or anti-Fender statement thread, not necessarily an "I just bought the new Dark Night Jazz bass" or similar post.

  6. Probably better just get the answer "carrots" out of the way right now...

  7. Hmmmm, interesting question. Finally figured it out though. On one hand, yes. But on the other hand, absolutely.

  13. For sure - I agree totally with you! The more generic, the more replies (e.g ‘anyone else have a problem with their Fender keeping time’, may not get that many replies compared with a Rolex thread on ‘Talkwatch’ :woot: or even ‘my Fender speakers sound farty in my VW Golf GTI compared with the ones in the German spec model’ may not in a VW forum , but the merest mention of Fender (so long as it’s generic or about P or J basses) in a bass guitar forum is almost sure to generate a lot of replies :)

I have no issues with Fender or any other maker. It’s up to humans to make it musical.

    It’s rarely the basses fault.

Yes, of course it does. In fact I've mentioned that on numerous threads.
For the Love or dislike, people are going to post about fender.
Mention words like wannabe or better than next to it and you'll get extra wheels.

On s personal note. When I joined this ragtag group I had no idea about the dislike for Fender. I had posted on my own introduction thread pictures of my Fender P-bass, J-bass and P/J Bass that all have an amp emblem on the upper horn. That really seemed to rub some wrong, So naturally I made it my Avatar.:D

    I guess you're about to find out :) .

I think P bass though has it beat by a long shot.
