Does Roland hate the 'net or something?

  1. Does Roland hate the 'net or something?

Whenever I need info on Roland/Boss stuff, I walk up to this outrageous silence. Roland must really hate the internet, because they supply NO info on their stuff. They're missing advertising opportunities BIG TIME. Every manufactorer I ever considered looking into have tons of info on the net about their products, you can download the manual, hear soundsamples, get the specs, dealer addresses etc etc etc. Roland only supplies a brief description and a small picture. That's all.

Do you guys have the same experiences? Care to let them know? I did send them an email about this, but guess what? No answer! Would it help if we all united and jammed their mailbox with complaints?

I too was astonished at how ridiculously little information there is up at Roland. Surprising for a hi-tech outfit like them. It's alomost as though the Roland site thinks their competitors will get too much info...

Definitely more info at bossus.com. Thanks!

  9. With all due respect, that's not what I mean. I don't want to see a 2 line description of a unit and a small picture, I want to see through the manual, get MIDI implementation tables, SysEx lists, sound samples, a tech page, software upgrades, drivers, etc. etc. of past, recent and new, unreleased equipment.

All the other manufactorers are doing it, why doesn't the market leader?

I believe Roland holds the highest count of user groups, exchanging information Roland doesn't supply.

Man, they must hate the net!

If you ever read a Roland manual you should be glad that they don't post them...

"If you desire sound changing, parameter selection will satisfy".

I know exactly what you mean Joris. I was looking at synths over winter break, and just couldn't find what I wanted from Roland's website. Ended up getting a Yamaha instead. I wonder what Roland customer service is like. If it's anything like their website I'm glad I don't own any Roland gear.

I'd like to hear the ODB3 samples from the BOSS web site but am having problems with my PC. Can anyone post them here in .WAV format?

I've been trying to find a manual for my D-20 for about 2 weeks; no luck. I've seen references to places to buy a manual but it always leads no where. The best help I've found is at alt.music.synth.roland.

i don't think this is too much to ask for either; i do a lot of research for new gear and i haven't bought some Roland products due to the lack of info on the site.
