Does the bridge make much difference? (and Ibanez EDB500)

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by aabassist, Sep 17, 2002.

  1. How does the bridge change the way the bass sounds??

also does it make a difference when tuning down?

Does anyone know if the Ibanez EDB500 sounds any good when tuned down

i'm sure that it would make a difference in that the bridge would have to be setup to compensate for the change in tension. you may have to raise the action a little to keep the strings from buzzing, depending on how it's set up now, and you will have to adjust for proper intonation.

oh yeah, this probably doesn't belong in the basses forum...it would more than likely be better in the setup forum. as to how it sounds....well, detune your bass and find out. that shouldn't be too hard. i would be willing to bet it sounds like a detuned edb 500, though ;)
