Does the Musicman Stingray Classic feel just like the originals?

.. Well... does it? I haven't been fortunate enough to play a vintage stingray

I have only played a few original Music Man basses and in all honesty have not had a lot of playing time on them but from what I remember of the ones I did play briefly, they are very similar to them. I do like the modern Classics more though. The EB/MM company took something very good and went and made it a whole lot better.

Awesome! Yea I played one and it just felt wonderful, I think I'm going to buy one from GC and play it for 3 weeks and see if I fall more in love with it

I believe the neck on the classics is a tad thinner at the nut (not exactly sure if its thinner overall, check MM's website)

I remember the neck felt a bit more comfortable on the classic, although thats not to say the regular ones have crap necks by any means. Classics also have a poly finish on them, as opposed to the regular ray necks.

Yeah, does it take a bit of getting used too? I remember feeling a bit slowed down (encumbered, hindered) when playing a Stingray as opposed to others basses..
