I wouldnt mind knowing, too. I plan on getting one to relic and mod over the summer.

  3. I own it. It's got decent mwah, but it has a polyurethane-coated maple fingerboard, so it's not quite as "woody" sounding as something with a bare rosewood or ebony board. It does sound very good though, and sits very well in the mix.

My friend has a rosewood(naked) fingerboard PJ and it does have plenty of mwah. If you're doubtful just go rosewood.

I have the rosewood board version and it has plenty of mwah. It's for sale too - click the link in my sig.

  10. honestly I would go for the P/J like mine

    3278771611_d21cea6952.

the regular SX P bass pickup makes a decent P Bass sound - nice fat and deep
and it makes a unique fretless sound like Pino Palladino
if I want that I usually solo the neck pickup

BUT I have found I get much more mwah and presence with the bridge soloed
and it makes a very nice Jaco-esque glasslike mwah

I hardly ever "mix" the two pickups together because for some reason atleast to me
the output gets minimilized and the attack is lost.

however the fact that I can get these two very fundamentally different fretless sounds in one bass that cost me 115 bucks is a nice bonus

That must be a run of the line PJ Fretless, because theyre arent any on the site.

I plan on getting the maple necked fretless to refinish, relic, and MoJo to hell over Summer.
