For this Xmas, I was going to treat myself by starting on the bass project I've been planning for years. I came across this auction on eBay for a pBass body... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7372109968 I'm pretty sure this isn't a MIM Fender since the neck heel area has been painted, but it's supposedly made of Alder. I think it's from a SX bass but I'm not sure. I'm a bit wary of bidding on an off-brand I haven't heard about so if anyone could give me a clue as to what make it might be, I'd really appreciate it.
might be a squier maybe? if you notice, it has a 14 hole pickguard instead of the usual 13 holer you find in p-basses. I know that my squier p has a 14 hole pickguard....
yeah, and the upper horn looks kinda flabby to be a Fender, imo. edit : the neck pocket is sprayed over, Fender dont spray over the neck pocket AFAIK, due to print the production date in the neck pocket.
It does look like an SX bridge. The neck pocket picture is from the Warmoth site BTW. The neck pocket on my SX Jazz is wider (2 9/16"?) than the standard. I think the P SX is the same. Also, the neckplate is blank. Would it be stamped SX? You might want to email the seller to measure the neck pocket.
