Does anyone make a power source for active basses? I wouldn't want to experiment with a 9 volt power supply because of the ac/dc issue but I am tired of buying batteries. effects pedals have powered pedal boards, does anyone know of anything like this?

No, you'd either have to rig up something yourself or I believe one or two basses feature that. The only one right now that comes to mind is a Lightwave.

Alembic uses an outboard power supply for some of their basses.

  4. The Variax bass has it's own power chord.

how fast do you go through batteries??? i have a warwick thumb, a spector, and a stingray and i have to change the batteries in them like twice a year max. Im playing in the studio for many hours a week plus band practice and personal practice. Make sure and unplug your bass.
