Yes, but whats the deal with the pickguard? I mean, its an easily replaceable part, but what was the seller thinking? Kinda like that cut up blue Rickenbacker that pops up every once in a while.
I just bought a P Bass on craigslist for 200. It was cosmetically perfect though. I'd say it's a fair price. But the bass is a beater and you need to put a 50 dollar pg on it, so you could be kinda proud of owning. In Kansas City there are a fair number of good P basses for sale for 175. I'd stay away from it and wait for a bass that has been taken care of for a few more dollars.
Its a good deal, but what concerns me is that the guy admits that its a minor thing and taking a ridiculous amount of value off of the bass. Seems weird from a guy who sounds like he knows what he has.
Wow. The body is cracked at the jack, and the pickguard was broken in two? Um, looks like that thing had a rough childhood, y'know? For me those things are red flags--but it's your call.
It might be a great deal. OTOH, if the neck is effed up it's a waste of a perfectly good $100 bill. The sellers grammar, spelling, email address and general attitude seal the deal for me- I wouldn't buy it with YOUR money.
I'd sure look it over closely before handing over any cash, but if it's playable, and easily fixable, it's a pretty good deal.
i dont mind if its cracked ill duck tape it but yeah the fact that he admits its easily fixable is kinda weird. I have an extra pickguard and strings so im thinking i might as well get it
The crack on the body looks like a spot where the bass would've hit the ground when swung by the neck, a la Pete Townshend.
i have seen that bass listed here (in houston) at least 3 times. The last time it was $80. No contact phone number, only a weird email address. google the email address and see other "things" this person has been "selling" I don't think this bass exists...i think the guy is harvesting email addresses.
It seems pretty messed up for a 2006 Fender. Yes a PG is only $10-20, but I would be worried it has been abused. Still $100 is a steal unless it is completely destroyed IMO.
What's up with that hole that would otherwise be hidden under the pickguard? I've seen that on a couple Fender's before. Unless the bass is hot, I'd snatch it up, TS. At the very least, it's $30 in labor and you can get another $150 out of it easily.
That hole's for the CNC routing machine... I'd say it's a good deal... new pickguard and a set of strings... bingo!
