Topic says it all^^
If you're a good pick player, a Warwick will sound good with a pick.
Every model Warwick sounds a little different though, there may be some models that naturally sound better picked than others. In my experience, the Jazzman models (Streamer, Fortress) sound especially thick and punchy when picked, but the natural midrange bump of basses like the through-neck Thumb don't lend themselves well to a big pick tone, they seem to shine better when played fingerstyle.
I think even the Thumb and the Corvette can sound good with pick. Just depends on what tone do you want... and what strings do you use.
+1. listen to some old Thursday stuff, great pick tone with a bo thumb.
My Jazzman sounds wicked with a pick!!! Just plain EVIL!
Is there a bass that DOESN'T sound good with a pick?
I can't get a good clean pick tone out of my upright
Squire Affinity basses sound like crap with a pick. Oh wait. . .
You know how to get a Warwick to sound good? PLUG IT IN! Doesn't really matter how you play it.....
Just make sure you are sitting down. . . You don't want to hurt your back.
Well...y'know your sig about Green Day? Same goes for me, but add Thursday, too.
Btw, anyone know some soundclip/song that shows off the warwick GROWL? And imo, my squier does really sound **** with a pick:/
different strokes for different folks, peace.
old dave matthews band, Before These Crowded Streets and anything older are, imo, great examples of great warwick tone and great musicianship. oh and old Thursday, again, great musicianship also!
The question is do you sound good with a pick?
Seriously, all the Warwicks I've played sounded killer with a pick.
try slipknot - dulaity
Their old bass player Gustaf, I think his name was, (there was also another bass player in the 90's, Pete), used a Dolphin NT with a pick on Chaosphere.
Take a listen to New Millenium Cyanide Christ. Sounds good!
Can you handle 23/16?
F*** yeh!!! if warwicks sound like on duality, god damn, that tone fkn rocks! ive definatly made up my mind for my next bass;D that tone owns!
