So, here's the problem with this;
I literally listen to Rock, Country, Rap, Top-40, Pop, Heavy Metal and Blues. So what personality do I have?

No joke, my iPad has everything from Katy Perry and Taylor Swift to The Cranberries to Metallica to Joe Bonamassa to Cinderella to Chris Stapleton to Eminem to Joe Satriani to Leo Moracchioli to The Omnific and on and on and on. And it's not uncommon for me to just put the whole mess on shuffle.

Maybe I have multiple personalities.

I recently had a tooth extraction postponed by the dentist because my blood pressure was high when they took it just before starting surgery. The sent me to my cardiologist to have me cleared for the extraction.

I went to my cardiologist and told him what happened and he laughed heartily saying, "The dentist is not where you go to have your blood pressure checked." With that I was approved and all went well the next time.

My dentist checks my bp every time I'm in, but they know I'm on Lisinopril, and it's just a matter of policy.

In a rare (for me) followup post, I'll say that metal is a bridge genre. It's a musical proposition of demurred presuppositions. Anger can only carry the load so far before introspection knocks incessantly: why are we doing this?

A bridge to what? Metal incorporates so many subgenres that you can't necessarily assign "anger" as an aspect of a typical metalhead, because there's no such thing. A Poison fan is not a Slayer fan, or even a Meshuggah or Boris fan either. I couldn't tell you a thing about technical death metal, but could listen to SunnO)) all day. Then St. Vincent after that.

Was just reading this interesting pop psychology article and thought TB members might find it interesting Music Preferences and Your Personality

Based on a claimed sample of 36,000 people the researchers found a correlation between music taste and personality or character type.

It's a broad brush and I'm a bit skeptical, but see if it fits you

I put a small modicum of stock in Meyers-Briggs. At least MB asks questions related to personality. It can help high school kids get a small amount of insight.
