If anyone from the Portland area reads this, I would like to take a moment and praise my luthier, Don Kinch. In the 4 years I have been using him, I have only taken my bass to him twice, once in '98 to have the fingerboard dressed, and once last year to have a new endpin put on. He does a great job every time.

But that's not my point. I feel like I can say "my luthier" only because when I walked in today and he not only knew immediately who I was and what my name was, but the exact history of when he had repaired my bass, what advice he had given me, and everything. I am not exactly a prolific bass player, and consider myself still a novice compared to many of the players on this board, and I must be only one of dozens if not more bass players who use him.

Needless to say, I recommend him highly.

Yeah, I loved his Rock Concert Show back in the 70's.

Does he still wear the satin jackets?
