Here's a video I just did of the head and Parker's solo from Donna Lee
Donna Lee - YouTube
Very nice! That's some expressive soloing right there.
Amazing! Such inspiring playing Craig. Thanks so much for sharing this.
My favorite part was how easy you made it look. You are so relaxed as you play!
Incredible ear and technique, really makes me want to hit the shed (not that I'd even come close).
What really struck me about this was how physically relaxed you are when playing this incredibly complex music. Is that something you're conciously striving for?
Thanks for the comments guys. To answer Mike yes I definitely make it a point to play as relaxed as possible at all times. I also try to make every motion as efficient as possible. I figure the bass is hard enough to get around on without making our lives unnecessarily difficult by introducing extraneous motion!
Wow, thanks for posting that. Very inspiring indeed.
Really nice playing. Thanks for posting this.
whoa - nice!
Wow. Just wow. I'm really trying to learn Donna Lee like that myself.
Woah! That was insane! Almost crazy enough to make me want to pick up that awful upright I have sitting in the corner... maybe I'll just stick to electric for now orchestra will not go well this year at all but crazy stuff!
Well shredded. Although, though you nailed, I saw your bass face straining. Nobody plays this piece easily. Damn though, well played sir
Yes, great playing!
wow! that's tough on electric with fingers. doing it on upright with a bow? wow, man.
dude, you make this look so effortless!
CButterfield, very impressive! Beautiful tone and phrasing. Thanks very much for sharing that.
Remarkable!!!! Thank you!
