Don't Hire This Guitar Player
To be fair, I'd probably be pushed to destroy things if I had to play Katy Perry.
Do you know how many times I've wanted to say/do that?
His parents must be so proud.
I think he makes a valid point...
Perhaps could've picked a more opportune moment, and maybe method...
To be fair, the drummer should have been fired
Drummer heard 'let's play Wipe Out'. He did the best he could.
Unless that's a $45 guitar and a gag, that guitar player is a..... well he's an idiot.
Well, he doesn’t have a guitar now anyway...
Sad, at so many levels...
The guy from Animal House got another movie gig?
I'm hiring him for my Who tribute band!
If this was actually a church event, it was probably staged as part of the message. Church skits can be quite dramatic. I'll bet the message was about showing grace. This looked like a youth event.
Thank you for your indulgence,
I've seen that - in our case, it was right after the guy told us his Dad had passed away, and left him this guitar, and he wanted to dedicate the next song to him. Then the guy next to him took the guitar and smashed it. It was a cheap old guitar (not from someone's Dad), and there was a point to the whole charade. I forget what the point was, but I'm wondering if this is something similar. He doesn't appear to be getting upset, and then smashes his own guitar? I call fake/drama - the lighting cut at the end seems staged and timed; I bet this was a "teachable moment" done intentionally.
I should note that I've done FOH a few hundred times for youth services - we've done stranger things than this.
I'll bet you are right. No one in the audience seemed upset... I'm glad you pointed that out.
I'll bet he'd been doing shots all night.
I dunno, the singer girl did a VERY convincing scream and reaction.... if she was in on it then she's a great actor, if she wasn't in on it then THAT'S EXACTLY THE WAY I'D WANT TO FREAK HER OUT!
this is my kind of fun. which is why I'm always trying to learn, as I get older, that not everyone understands when I'm making a sarcastic or angry sounding joke, and if they don't understand then I just come across as a complete jerk.
Like I said, working on it - but dang I love this - if it was a skit or not!
Been a while since I’ve been to church but yeah, I’d say staged, a gag or part of a skit.
