Are double bass bridges compensated (angled to make the E string length longest and the G shortest)?

No. But, there is a school of thought that compensated tailpieces add value by adding to the afterlength of the string(the distance from the other side of the bridge to the tailpiece) on the E and A strings..

I have one on my DB. I say definitely maybe.
