Double neck 5 string fretted/fretless ?

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by deiseldave2001, May 13, 2002.

  1. Are there any manufacturers that make a double neck bass 5 string fretted/fretless under $2K ? I would prefer headless, and composite. I checked out BassTec and they are asking $4K +.

Doublenecks are pretty much a custom order option. There is not a big demand for them, so companies don't mass produce them. And to get a doubleneck 5 for under $2000, it would definitely have to be mass produced.

Here is a picture of my favorite doubleneck 5. I would kill for one of these!

I don't mind the bottom neck, but the top one doesn't have enough strings!

That would be a Basslabs bass. They do some interesting stuff.

Hey, Jeff, forget the number of strings...any Pedulla is a fine Pedulla! Oh this damned Pentabuzz GAS..

  19. Ok, so it's not composite and headless, but if I were going for a fretted/fretless doubleneck 5, it would look somethig like this:

Mike...that Wal...it, it speaks to me!

Actually, For some reason, that is really cool to me. I'm not a huge fan of the Wal aesthetics, but that one is just different enough for me...I want one! :D
