Yep, now that's what happens when JT has serious case of Gassius Conklinous but can't decide on the specs. "Maple top? Walnut top? Lacewood? Frets?! Ah, to heck with it, Bill, one of each please." :D

What kinda' moolah are we talkin'? Any specifics?...4+4, 5+5, 4+8?

There's an old Hondo / Danelectro lookalike 4+8 back on eBay with a
"buy it now" price of $600 - feller's "gotta" have a Ric 4005.

Pedulla's got the Mark Egan Signature starting at $3995 (4+4F).

Jerzy Drozd can make doubleneck versions of their models. But that's
a buncha' simoleans and I hear the wait time is nuts.

awww geez  Who let this goober in? :D

Don't forget, if you want to go the cheaper route, keep your eyes peeled on eBay for that ubiquitous Galveston doubleneck bass. I forget the exact configuration, but it might be something like 5-string fretted/4-string fretless. It's always real cheap and comes with its own case.

There is also that doubleneck Washburn that looks like two Steinbergers hastily mated. That one's always pretty cheap also.

Just a thought. (And a very frugal-minded one at that.)

i think they are saying here that this is the list price for either the fretted 4 string mark egan or the fretless verision of the same bass

otherwise, why would they have a seperate doubleneck price that is so much higher?
