I have an old mahogany bodied Yamaha BB that I bought off of TB. Someone who owned it previously to me routed it for a bridge position J - but unfortunately did a "eh" job, not really measuring for the tangs in the right places. Being's that I am a fan of not so usual basses, I've actually started to give thoughts to putting in a single coil P pickup in that spot, giving me a Double P without any real modifications to the body. Has anybody tried a P/P with this kind of configuration yet?

    U.K.
Someone here on TB has that config but with the single coil in the neck position, I've seen it posted in a few different threads but can't remember which exactly. Any of the P threads I guess (if you've got a few spare hours!).

the spacing might not be so good, and a single-coil P pickup is quite sensitive to how well the strings line up over the magnets.
