Double thumping?

    I heard about this in another discussion thread ("Things I wish...").

    What the heck is it? I've been playing since 1982, never heard of it. :help:

    It's when you slap down with the thumb, and then up with the thumb. It's more or less using your thumb as a pick for fast slap lines.

    Ahhh... I don't slap, so that's why I don't know what it is.. cool, thanks MammaryVest (why do I feel all funny saying your name???). :D

    Allows a ton of speed for melodic lines. Marcus Miller and Alain Caron are two of the other masters... I've only heard a handful of other players do it with any sort of quality. However, every single one of my intermediate students does it poorly:eyebrow:
