Here is the latest Dave Pushic...

It is Cocobolo top, Maple middle, Walnut back with Gabon Ebony board, and Maple and Wenge neck. Bartolini Split coils and bridge piezo's all ran through a Bart Pre... I just have to wait for it to be shipped here...and then I can give a full review...but it looks just like I drew it...so I'm pumped...

Happy for you that you got yours already.

    It looks beautiful.
  9. Very pretty. Is that cocobolo a piece Dave had on hand, or is it one you sent him? Mine is going to have a coco top as well and I'm hoping it's going to look that pretty as well. Two more weeks on mine...

    Congrats again.
    And ready for a review.

Congrats! That Coco looks nice - how is it finished? I understand coco can be a real challenge to get just right.

How did you determine pickup placement? Also, the bridge looks high on the body - did you spec it that way? If so, why?

Let us know what you think when you get it!

I'm curious about these details too. Never seen a fingerboard end in that spot.
    What scale is it?
    very nice wood.

the scale will be a surprise to me...i had picked 35"
then 34" then 32".....then 30.25"...then I changed it back to 32"...for a week straight I couldn't make up my mind...i'm thinking I went with 32"..but whatever...i'll be playing it just the same....

the body is pretty large though...so that could also be my bridge situation...

i wish i could remember those details from so long ago...when I get it all will be known....

oh, and that's Dave's pick of Cocobolo.

the pu's were inspired from what i've liked in previous basses...

the fingerboard ending there just looked reasonable to me...

    One word. Scrotum.

NAW, NAW, NAW! It's a beaut. Perhaps Mr. Pushic is getting the knack. That's a mighty fine looking piece. Congrats!

Pretty. I like how the the figuring of the cocobolo swirls right to the center of the scroll. I actually like its looks a lot more than some Carl Thompsons.
  20. That's probably the nicest DP custom yet. Enjoy!
