Yea, I'd like to know as well. I have been using Black Diamond coated strings for about a year and love them. They are pricey however. The DR's are a little more affordable and that would be a big plus if they have good longevity and provide good tone.

I have my Hanewinckel Vintage Retro 4 strung up with them. They sound good, plenty of top end for slapping and a nice, balanced overall character. Feel good, too. The black wears off VERY quick however and they look shabby. I found the G string started to fade after about an hour of playing. The tone lasts for a while, however and they tend to sound/last like DR's in general.
