DR Fat Beams vs. Hi-Beams

Discussion in 'Strings [BG]' started by EagleMoon, Mar 6, 2008.

  1. What's the difference? It seems they're both stainless steel on a round core. I've been using Hi-Beams for years now and was thinking of trying something else in that line.

I find the Fat Beams to be similar to Hi Beams but to possess a little more bottom. I love them and used to use them exclusively but now I drop tune all 4 or 5 strings and can't find a place to get .50-.110 or .135 Fat Beams. But they rock sir, rock hard. Give them a shot.
  3. Have you ever tried any of the others? The Sunbeams or the Lo-Riders?
