    Hi all,

I've been thinking of getting a set of DR Hi Beams gauge 120,100,80,60,40 for my 34" Yamaha BB605 5 string bass.I normally use Daddario's or EB's 130-45 gauge, but prefer something lighter for the higher strings.I'm wondering how the 120 size DR B string would sound, since it's pretty light?Does it sound floppy and unfocused?Anybody tried this set before on a 34" scale bass? Thanks in advance.
  2. The DR Hi-Beams are nice but the DR .040-.120 Sunbeams & lite-B are better IMO (nickl vs SS). You should really give these a try if you're not set on SS/Hi-Beams. The .120 is tight & focused on my 34" bass. I also like the Elixir Nanoweb Lites .045 - .130 and will not buy EB's & Boomers again.
