DR sound, but not DRs?

    I have an odd question. I love the sound and feel of DR strings, but they do not make tapered strings for my Thumb 5. What other tapered strings should I look at to try out that sound like the DR strings??

    fastplant, do standard DR sets not work on a Warwick?

    tewksbury ma usa iam a hick,
    not on the b string. u have to cut the saddle or order a new one. its to small for most b strings if its not a tapered string. warwick web site tells u how to make it so u can use them.



    what the point of tapered strings.

    I'll check those out. I did call DR and they told me they didn't have any tapered strings. Strange, huh?

    Maybe DR finally stopped making those POS

    Do yourself a favor and forget you ever heard the name longnecks. Every person on this board that had tried them had had an odd harmonic warbling above the 12th fret. Do a search on the board for long necks in the string forum and see for yourself.
    If you want a stainless steel tapered string, try SR2000

    I just got a set of the longneck dr tapercores. they all have tapercores and they sound great. Guitar center has them and so does

    Dean Markley SR 2000. Try these and you'll never use another tapered string made by anyone else....

    Yup, did the search and it looks like long necks are out, I'll check out the SR2000s, thanks

    I probably will, I go through strings rather quickly so I can try and compare strings easily.
