After going to two guitar centers and not finding any sunbeams I went to a Sam Ash. Once I finally got some help I asked for DR Sunbeams and I was told they dont exist. When questioned the employee told me it was only his 3rd day and he didnt really know what he was talking about.

Sounds like a typical Sam Ash employee to me.

Try bassstringsonline.com, Jason the owner is here on the forums (forgot his screen name) but he is very helpful, great prices too!

I buy strings from either Bass Specialties or Bassstringsonline. Both are awesome.

I got really tired of going to GC for what I think are very common strings (DR sunbeam, and neons) and not finding any. And Bass NW quit carrying R Cocco's which is another I like using.

I was actually at DR in New Jersey last week and they most certainly exist! They also actually wind the strings by hand! Write up and pictures soon to come :)

(Yes they are still making Sunbeams, just no .050 .070 .090 .110 set yet!!!!)

Looking forward to this! I bet the DR 'factory' is not as high tech as people think.

My local GC always has 2 rows of them.
  18. I'm sure if you asked about flats at any of those place you would get a *** are you talking about face from the employees.

Bass strings online is the best place. I even order from Jason all the way to Japan.

I vote we turn this into a guitar center bashing thread. I would take the high road and suggest another "Bassstringsonline is awesome" thread, but I think everyone knows that already.
