So - isn't it nice to have some good home-grown Sci-Fi back on prime time National TV?

And it actually looks like it'll have good production values , lots of CGI and be a serious programme, but with a lot of "knowing" humour...;)

Is anybody else looking forward to this?

OK - there'll never be another Tom Baker, but with the developments in CGI, the time is right to make the kind of Dr. Who it always should have been...?

I hope it retains the 'cheesy charm' of the original.

  3. Jellybabies had better be involved.

Apparently, the first episode has a joke reference to Morecambe and Wise, as one of Christopher Ecclestone's big heroes is Eric Morecambe!! ;)

Christopher Ecclestone was interviewed on the radio today and he was saying that he hopes it will be bought by US TV companies, but that they were being a bit hesitant - presumably waiting to see what the reaction is like over here, first?

Random thought here - was there ever a two-headed character in the "classic" Dr. Who series?

If so, what was the character's name?

    DD

On another note - the first episode of the US version of "The Office" airs tonight in North America. I really have low expectations based on the cleverness and originality of the UK original....gotta love Ricky Gervais.

Saw an ad on some website about the U.S version of the Office - looks interesting!

Doubt it will be shown over here for a while - let us UKers know what its like!

I'm especially interested in seeing how the David Brent character turns out.

Typical. I guess the old saying is true - if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I will probably watch out of curiosity though! :)
