How is everyone? I know everyone out there has a bass they dream about but Iwas wondering how many of you are lucky enough to own your dream bass? If you do what kind is it. Mine is my Warwick SS II.
  2. Hello ArtFS and welcome to Talk Bass.

You pose a tricky question. There's so much out there.

My current thinking might be quite conservative. Perhaps a USA Jass. I quite like the Dean basses, too.

I'm not particularly into top of the range stuff but an Alembic wouldn't go amiss.....:D

after my rick 4001 and my spector ns5cr i'd like a lot to have a gibson thunderbird, a fender precision. and a fender jazz too.
  4. Ibanez EDC705, did it. done that.. been there.. i even own one :)
  5. I have many dreams :)

    My Sadowsky Vintage 5
    My Zon Lightwave fretless 5

(Soon to be) My Sadowsky Modern fretless 5

And someday, my own design 6 string

  6. My dream bass is in the process of being built! I'll let y'all in on it when it's closer to being done.

Hey Voodoo, I definitely feel ya on that Alembic. The triple Omega looks incredible. Its the epitome of badass
  10. I built a fretless from scratch and am too chicken to build another! I'm in the process of working with a luthier on a 6 string. I have a nice piece of buckeye burl that I want to use as a full top and headstock laminate. I am working thru the details, but in general I want this bass to be the "Swiss Army Knife" of tone. I'm really not in any hurry, so I'll take my time on this one.

I have had 3 Zons custom made.

  11. An ash Spector NS-2J USA bolton.. not the most expensive bass Spector makes.. but it has the sound I want and fits me like a glove.

I would like a neuser cloudburst. They look sweet too bad I have never got to play one. Also a sadowsky vintage 5 string. Then to finish off an alembic.

as much as i love my thumb - i think my DREAM bass would be a 5 string warwick dolphin pro I - with the boire rosewood body. <spooge>

or! a custom dolphin - ebony body, dye blue quilted maple top with a natural maple laminate inbetween, satin finish, 7 piece maple and wenge neck, wenge fingerboard w/ side LED's and a japanese character saying "dolphin" in jade inlaid at the 12th fret. it'd be heavy as HELL...but it'd be badass.

JT...when did you get the Black and White "Melted" bass? I see it occasionally, but it's not in the "Family Portrait" or on your site...so...what's the news?

Oh! And you're supposed to get the 8 fretted and the 7 hollowbody at Namm with Bill, is that right? Or am I imagining you said something to that effect?
  20. JT, How do you pay for those basses????????
