Ok so here's the deal. I might gig (Small venues) once a year, but I practice daily for 1-3 hours. I am looking for a "do it all" set up. SO after much reading I have decided to go with the following: Aguilar Tone Hammer 350 or 500 Greenboy Fearless f112 With that being said...would you suggest a different setup? Speaker config? Manufacturer? Remember that this will be my only amp and cabinet to be used for everything I do. And lets face it...I'm not gonna get rich playing! tanks!
I have a TH500 and a fearful 12/6 and it sounds great. I've played a few small gigs with just that setup. One thing though ... isn't that cab 8 ohms? If so, your TH500 will only be running at ~250 W. Normally, I like to run it through a pair of DB112s (8 ohms each -> 4ohms). The -10dB button on the front of the TH500 for active bases is also great for use as a practice amp. BTW, I'm jealous of your ability to practice for 1-3 h a day -- I'm doing well if I can squeeze in an hour a week these days
Fine choices. Other excellent Class-Ds available, but the Aggy THs are sure among them. If just one box, though, I'd probably go F115.
^^+1.. I don't know if a single 12 is quite enuf for a do it all cab, id also go with a 15 or even a f212 or a 1212/6 wich is a 4ohm cab that takes full advantage of the 500w I run a fearful 1212/6/1 with a gk mb800 and I feel that is a do it all cab but I have a 12/6/1 and a rb700 that I can stack on top just in case I really want to hurt someone
That pairing will sound great. The amp so t push the F112 to its full capabilities, but will be fine for low volume stuff.
