Dream Rig

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by bassvirtuoso13, Apr 17, 2001.

  1. I've almost realized my dream rig. I have 2 Mesa/boogie Powerhouse 1000 cabs, a Mesa/Boogie 400+ and Basis M-2000, a dbx 1066 Compressor, Eventide GTR-4000, Mesa/Boogie Amp Switcher, and a Rocktron Bradshaw Switching System.I also have various effects pedals in a rack case.

  2. If you could have any rig you want what would be in it.

  3. If I could put this post anywhere I wanted, I would want it here!

    Think I'll do just that...

How's that dbx 1066 work with your bass? I have one in my PA, but I've never run my bass through it.

    BV13,
I also have M-2000 & a Bass 400+ (through a Mesa 2x15B RoadReady cab...my question to you is-Have you ever experienced problems with your M-2000? Like popping & cracking...see my post on "Attention Mesa Boogie owners" in the Amps section. I'm considering getting a M/B 2x10 and 1x15 also.
I'm working on my "dream rig" but I have to get through the probs I'm having with my BRAND NEW M-2000. BTW, Mesa is working with me on this problem...but things are moving very slowly since I live so far from decent Mesa approved repair stations...

NO PROBS with the 400+...it is a workhorse and I'm glad that I have it when my M-2000 is in the shop!!

  8. It is most likely a transformer problem. The prospect of it being a problem with the tubes is highly unlikely. Mesa/Boogie is really good with customer service though so dont worry too much.

I've already got my two dream rigs-
    1) Mesa 400+ / 2 Eden 410XLT's
    2) '73 Ampeg SVT

    Love them both!

Aguilar DB680 tube preamp, DB728 all tube poweramp, and two GS410 cabinets.

  11. Some of these rack ideas make me want to go out and buy them. That Aguilar rack sounds pretty sweet.

I have my dream rig. It works perfect for me. And it all fits into a SKB Bass Hardshell case.

    Ibanez SR485 --> Sans Amp DI --> Band's PA (800 watts)

That would be Dire Straits, sir!

And on topic, I'd probably want a Ashdown BM-900 and 2 Eden 4x10XLT's.
