Very nice, but $5,900 for an active Fender Jazz 5 string Bass?
Okay, it's a 'Custom Shop Masterbuilt', but still $5,900? Yes I am drool quite a bit....

Dude...I would play the heck out of that thing! That bass looks like a life partnet to make music with to me!

  6. You’d get the same thing a LOT cheaper on your side of the pond!

Id rather have that single bar 5¢ tree than the lame two round and one hook tree mess they have on the modern fivers.

But looking at the back of the neck where it meets the headstock, looks as though the back of the neck is very flat. Im mean flat like what Status does on their fivers

You are right! I didn’t notice that! I’m not sure I have played a basseith a neck like that...

Just like the 5-string Squier my son plays. Most of the rest of the bass too, as a matter of fact. New, he paid about a tenth for what a CS one is. Maybe it is actually ten times better.

Sorry guys, but you’re all crazy. I’d rather have what they did with the Marcus Miller Sig Jazz V...
Two Hipshot retainers, 2- and 3-string...
Especially on a (used) $5.9k instrument...

  13. Everyone knows that Squiers are just as good (or better than) any real Fender, even a CS Fender. This has been well established in Talkbassworld for as long as I can recall.

As far as the string retainer, Lakland uses the bar system too, so they're prolly no better than a Squier either. ;)

  14. Agree on the Hipshots, love those things.
