Drop volume E string

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by Rick N. Hofner, Mar 17, 2009.

  1. I bought a used Michael Kelly Acoustic Bass with a Fishman pre. When I play it plugged in to an amp the E string volume is much lower than the A,D,G strings. Could this be a symptom of a faulty pickup? A dead E string? Or something else perhaps? I appreciate any thoughts or advice.

I'm not an expert on the topic by any means, but somebody has to ask the obvious: your pickup isn't on a lean is it? :meh:

I saw this problem with a Washburn acoustic at work. long story short, we had to get a new piezo.
