...but it was in a metal briefcase with foam. 'Bout had a heart attack! However, when I set it up I noticed that the master volume knob was tight. Dang. I guess I need some denser foam. I pushed on the knob, sideways, and then it was fine, and the amp played just fine all night at the gig. Apparently, either the pot got a tad askew or maybe things moved around some. But the other knobs were ok, though. It made me think about some folks saying that their Markbass knobs were sometimes stiff, maybe just one knob. What seems to have happened in my case was that the knob was just barely rubbing against the hole in the panel (?) or the stem was not perfectly centered, something like that. perhaps a little nudge would help other folks with a stiff knob. Anyway, all seems to be well, but it was quite a shock to me. What happened was that the briefcase was on top of my cab as I rolled in, and then I set the speaker down a bit too quick and the briefcase slid off the front of the cab onto a tile floor (over concrete). The front of the amp came down first inside the briefcase. I gotta be more careful. Thank goodness for tough equipment.
I had an LMTube in a padded bag that fell a few feet to the ground off my cart. Broke the board as the knobs are directly mounted to the pc board. After waiting a month for parts it was finally fixed at my cost. I sold it (with full disclosure) and won't own MB stuff again. ymmv. Might want to be careful about "nudging" the knobs on a MB amp...
Hm, interesting info there. I'll keep that in mind. If it develops a problem, well, I have plenty of GAS stored up ready to explode.
