    Hey all,

I am interested in possibly buying a drum machine to play in a live situation (just jamming at this point) with a guitarist friend and possibly another person. I am going to try to find a live drummer of course, but in the meantime I would like something I could program and then jam along to.

Can anyone tell me what I should get? How would you run this in a live situation with me on bass using my head and cab, a guitarist and his stuff and possibly a keyboard player? I use Garageband for home recording and that works well but this will be jamming along with live so I dont know what to do exactly.

Probably you'd want an MPC or a BFD/MPD24 kind of setup. The MPC you could use standalone, or you can use a computer and BFD or some other drum sampler with a drumpad like the MPD24 or PadKontrol.

Hunta's right but something you also are going to need to worry about is volume. If you want to practice along this thing is going to need to be about as loud as a real drummer, unless you guys turn down alot. I would think a keyboard amp would work for this purpose.
