  1. Well, check this out: the Mini Omnicabsim prototype. I already have the Deluxe OCSM and I swear for it, but this should be interesting.

Very cool little box. I bet there was a lot of F-bombs assembling that proto! Nice work @Dsmnoisemaker!

It's also able to be always-on; which was a tiny neusance for me for my in-ears setup. I'll definitely be picking one up to put at the end of my chain and tuck in my amp head rack for in ears, and probably put my OCSD back on my board for the FOH DI

    Yes
    Indeed!!
It's a tight, tight layout..i had to step up my CAD habilities to pull this one off, there's no room to make mistakes.

A couple questions for you @Dsmnoisemaker

"On middle positions, the warmth and rich overtones of distortions are superbly voiced by its carefully designed filters."

    - Does this mean mid scoop or boost is worked into the sweep of the Texture control?

"But that's not all. This is really a miniature Power Amp + Cabinet combo in miniature.
The Amp Gain knob emulates the complex overdrive characteristics of tube power amps. Crank it up and you get the smooth clipping, compression and extra midrange byte of a loud amp taken to its limits. This gives a whole new dimension to the omnicabsim concept. Not only you get the right frequency response to play direct, now you can get the right “feel”, too."

    - This is new right? The gain on the OCSD isn't designed like this, correct?

    Hi there!
    Glad you noticed!
For the mini the mids are set at 70%, but no mid boost ( the gain emphasize the mids at high levels, though)
The texture is just like the high response knob.

    Hi guys!!
    Some updates on the OCSM!
I've got a sample of the final enclosure, i put the prototype in and it looks great!!! View attachment 3209832
The enclosures are ready, but the pcbs are still being manufactured. I expect to have them at my shop in 2 weeks and start assembly & testing asap.
Please if you have any questions, just let me know.

I hadn't seen this one answered here and it's a question I have, what's the difference between both omnicabsim pedals from a bass player's perspective. Sometimes the mini versions of the pedals struggle to provide the quality if their larger brothers and sisters...

Its a stripped down version in terms of functionality. The DI, texture and Resonance are the same circuit as the big brother. But we added the amp gain which is not present on the omni dlx.

What is the power draw of the mini? Curious minds want to know.
