Does anyone happen to have a copy of that Gomer Pyle On Bass picture from the old Dudeput lying around? I've found a social situation where breakin' that bad boy out will result in MUCH hilarity, but it appears that The Dude has shuttered the Pit for the time being.

I was looking for this picture! I guess it's not original on here (go figure). I used it as my Avatar, but I will change it if someone else is using it.

No love for the tortise pickguard? I would never consider anything else on my '62 Jazz Frankenbass. Original neck, but someone down the line had it repainted and the pots were upgraded in the early 70's (Tsk Tsk - people leave your bass's alone! Age and wear has its appeal). Bought it from Gruhn Guitars in the late 90's so I am reasonably confident about its authenticity. Neck date was written in pencil (before they started stamping them). It was tough finding info about them back in the 90's. Maybe if I took off the neck and chained it to my bumper and dragged it for a few hundred feet I could get down to wood? I am not serious.

It didn't start here...it'd have to be a P bass with tort for TB. IMO
