duff power board?

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Microbass, Jul 8, 2005.

  1. hi guys. its been a while now and im still traceless. im losing faith. :(

the guys re-did a few joints to begin with, and replaced the compressor board. still low volume. check the cab, nothing wrong there.

tried a different cab in the shop, and again, low volume...
    then pop. then eeee...
the tech thinks a capacitor blew.

they've not been able to find anything wrong with it in the past month.
any possibile chance the tranny is buggered, or the power board is just dead and this will be endless nightmare of things breaking on my wee greener?

Sounds like you're having the same problem I'm having with my AH 300SMX. Usually after 30-45 minutes of playing the output drops to barely audible (the drummer notices instantly. The guitarist keeps wailing away :eyebrow: )

Anyway, I've had it in the shop twice and they can never replicate the problem. Since Trace went out of business, it's hard to find anybody that knows anything about them, and nobody has parts.

I'm going to replace the head with either a Yorkville XS800H (which are made not to far from where I live), or a GK RB1001.

    Good luck Micro.
