Is it pronounced "LACK" land or "LAKE" land?

Note thread will be deleted after a clear answer is provided.

    Thanks :D

Lake. Derived from Dan Lakin's name, pronounced Lake-in.

Lol...I thought it had something to go with the "great lake" Erie on which Chicago is situated, and Lakland is also based.

Maybe I should keep the thread alive after all. You are even in Chicago!

The bar over the "a" in "Lakland" (check out the site to see what I mean) indicates that it's pronounced "lake-land."

  7. UHHHHHH. Do you mean Lake Michigan?;)

The bar would imply that it is lakeland. However Americans have unusual ways of pronouncing some words like a tomatoe some people say Toh-may-toe and Iraq some Americans say eye-rack. When europeans say Ih-rack. A bit off topic but something to conisder.

"Lakland" actually comes from a combination of Lakin and McFarland, as in Hugh McFarland, Dan's original partner in starting it up, IIRC.

I thought it came from the shop they started with. It was called Lake land industrys, or something to that nature.

From Dale Cruse, Lakland webmaster, posted here:

"I should also mention the LAND in Lakland comes from Dan's former partner Hugh McFarland."
