dumb question

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by 3 crotch grabs, Apr 29, 2003.

  1. my band just inherited some gear... including a bass amp.

the fuse is blown. the hardware store has "fast blow" and "slow blow" fuses. which way should i go?

sorry, i don't know the make and model right now. my guitarist is down at the studio, he was gonna call and let me know what it is. i'll drop that info on this thread when i get it...

  2. Usually slow-blow, because the power transformer has high inrush current.

But what made the fuse blow....
  3. i have no idea what made it blow.

either it came that way, or the guitarist plugged something ungodly into it and went nuts.

i've learned two things about semi-free gear...

1-don't spend too much fixing it. it will probably crap out again soon.

2-don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

.... man.... a free horse would be cool.
