I have an F Bass BF6 that a previous owner installed a Lindy Fralin pickup in the bridge position. Apparently it is some kind of humbucking model. (I don't know if its stacked or split coils.)

Anyway, the neck PU is the original F Bass pickup. It sounds great, but without the original bridge PU, I get the standard hum when the volume is all the way up. (Turning both pickups up doesn't eliminate it.)

Is there any way to wire a dummy coil or similar inside the bass to eliminate the hum of the neck PU?

    Thanks.
