Just bought this pedal, Model GCB-100. Tried it out on my practice amp Fender Rumble 100 w/PV Cirrus bass. Is it typical for this pedal to really suck the volume out of my rig when I kick it on? The battery is new, cables are new and in good shape. I had a EBS wah/one and it did not affect volume like this Dunlop is doing.
Have you tried adjusting the variable Q knob. You can play round with it till you find the spot where it doesnt overlord and doesnt drop out. I havnt seemed to of had your problem with mine. Give the Q knob a crack.
The GCB-100 isn't a very well liked or highly recommended pedal around here and your experience just goes to confirm the perception. The 105Q has a good following though.
And I dont think this is the model with a Q knob its just the basic wah wah pedal. Actually I did a search here on TB before I bought it and quite a few said they liked it better than the 105Q model, so I bit. So then the volume dropping like that is typical of this pedal? Is there an adjustment inside it that I can make to help? Plus it aint doing a whole lotta wah or wah, just low volume, hiss and effects the hi & bass tone with toe up or down, ***? It is a refurbished unit so maybe I can send it back and look for what now? a vox, morley, etc. Just want a basic no frills wah wah.
....so maybe I can send it back and look for what now? a vox, morley, etc. Just want a basic no frills wah wah. So get the Dunlop 105Q. It's a hell of a lot better than what you have now.
I owned the 105Q for a while and I absolutely agree that it's an awesome pedal. I also tried the Morley Bass Wah in a store and really liked it. The price on the Morley was awesome too. I'd suggest A/Bing them before deciding.
