Dunlop Lemon Oil for oil finishing?

Discussion in 'Hardware, Setup & Repair [BG]' started by bassophile, Oct 24, 2005.

  1. Can this oil be used for oil finishing, beside that it cleans and polish rosewood fretboards? :meh:

lemon oil to clean your fretboard..

for oil finish body..get some wax.. warwick's wax is good enough
  4. lemon oil evaporates and leaves little residue...it doesn't seal your grain, it just nourishes the wood...

what you would want is something like Tru oil or other tung oil or boiled linseed oil...these products will seal your grain...

after following the product directions and letting the product dry thoroughly, an application of a wax (never silicone on wood), such as a carnuba wax or a beeswax is in order to finish the job...

periodic reapplication of wax and buffing is normally required, too.
