Dunlop Nickel Wound Super Bright String Broke Tuning Up

Discussion in 'Strings [BG]' started by GoneFission, Jul 2, 2017.

  1. So i had a set of Dunlop Super Bright Stainless Steels on my one bass and i really liked them so decided to try the Nickels to see how they sound and to not wear my frets as much. So i am tuning up tonight and the A strings end ball at the bridge just snapped off from the normal tension. ARRRGGHH! I've been playing bass for 35 years and never had a string do that. Has anyone else experienced this with these strings. Really bummed and i guess i will call Dunlop and see if i can get any help regarding this. Not expensive strings but it just sucks and shouldn't happen.

Contact the shop purchased from OR Dunlop directly. Solution would have been made already...
  3. Dunlop had bad batches of these early on, but not recently as far as I can gather from what I've been reading.

Where did you purchase them? Is it possible you got one of the earlier ones from an old stock somewhere?

Happened plenty with other brands, but never with Dunlops, so it happens. They will take care of you, send an email to customer service.
